REPORT FROM EMMAUS – Helen Jago reported
that there are currently 22 residents on role (up to 29 can be accommodated).
Glad to report a trouble free Christmas and New Year period.

MATTERS ARISING FROM DECEMBER MEETING:- Rural housing Trust – Mrs. Allsopp received a phone call today from Anne Bishop who reported that the housing survey is almost completed and will be available for February Parish Council. Fantastic response rate, out of 370 forms handed out, 169 returned (46.9%) which is a very high. Mrs. Allsopp to copy the details she has thus far and circulate to all Councillors. Anglian Water Authority – Bridgend (clerk to ask for more details on work previously carried out). Large hole at Crossroads – Clerk to contact Highways for information on repairs urgently required at this location. Rural Grants – New hedging plants planted in Playing Fields and several other areas. St. Mary’s Churchyard – Cllr. Brandon reported that new plans, drawn up by Alistair Baldwin, will be on show at the Village Hall on 16th April 2007, 7.30 p.m. for parishioners to view the idea of a Garden of Remembrance and attend a presentation. Cllr. Tusting will ask the PCC to obtain a quotation for repairs to the damaged footpath in the Churchyard. Highways matters – Highways Dept. will only carry out future patching work in Street Close – not overall resurfacing. High Street/The Moor – kerbs work completed November 2006. Rectory Close – dropped kerbs work not high priority at the moment, work to be carried out in due course. Community Police Support officer – Cllr. Jenkins requested this issue be put forward at the ‘Open meeting’, to be held in April, asking Parishioners if they feel the need for such an officer within the village. Parish Council are concerned that there would be insufficient work within the Parish. Clerk to contact Harrold P.C. for their comments/possibility of a job share. Clerk to contact P.C. Rob Smith to ask if he would attend our ‘Open meeting’ and give a presentation. Harrold/Odell Country Park – Letter received from Harrold P.C. regarding the proposed Youth Skate facility asking if Carlton & Chellington P.C. would be interested in making a contribution to funding – Clerk to write back requesting more details on cost, planning, time scale etc. Clerk to ask Lyndsey Bignell at the Country Park
if she would come along to our ‘Open meeting’ in April and give a
presentation of the Park’s future plans. B.C.C. Highways Design Guide – Cllr. Chapman unable to read CD disc supplied to him, passed on to Cllr. Jenkins who will notify B.C.C. if still unable to read information. 5. HIGHWAYS MAINTENANCE PARTNERSHIP – Vehicle Activated Signs would cost £5,000 per sign – we only have a grant of £3,000, so this would be very expensive. Alternative suggestion would be repairs to ‘The Gannick’ footpath – Cllr. Benson to look at the area and advise the Clerk on area to be repaired. Clerk to write a thank you letter regarding resurfacing work completed on the ‘Long Stile’ footpath last year – extremely good work carried out. 6. Community Emergency Plan – no action, remove from future Agenda. 7. 8. BOROUGH COUNCILLOR’S Question/Answer section – Cllr. Brandon discussed new water features in Bedford Town Centre. 9. SCHOOL GOVERNOR’S REPORT - new Head teacher, Sue Burt, commences work in September. A new class teacher for Class 2 needs to be appointed. 10.

Closure Felmersham bridge to Louise Ashmore email – S137 – notification of voluntary donations on behalf of each Parishioner will be £5.64 (this money goes towards Fetes, Villager Bus etc). 11.
Planning Application – 06/03/55/FUL for Planning Sub-Committee – Cllr. Simpson agreed to work with Cllr. Jenkins on this committee to replace Cllr. Devine, who has resigned. 12. Financial Report (from Mrs Allsopp) – Five cheques have been drawn for signature, Mrs Allsopp £35.50, Mrs Bransgrove-Knight £202.50 (also £104.94 for filing cabinet), Donna Goggins £25.00 for delivering the housing survey forms around the village, and Greenbarnes Ltd. £1,013.14 for the notice board at the Village hall. No time sheet received from Billy for December. Bank balances are:- Current account £1,460.95 and Capital Reserve £18,480.90, total £19,941.85. Mrs Allsopp explained about problems with Nat. West Bank again, transfers between accounts not actioned correctly , still to be sorted out with them. Precept form duly signed requesting £12,500 from the Borough Council for 2007/8. 13. quotation – re-point inside of Baptist Chapel Wall.
Judo Club – Cllr. Benson to ask the club to supply a quotation
for the funding they require in time for the next P.C. meeting.
Parish Council Open Meeting – Clerk to book main Village Hall
for 26th April There being no further business, the
