Children’s Class Recipe
Class 89
Melting Moments
Ingredients
5oz (125g) self raising flour.
3oz (75g) castor sugar
4 oz (100g) fat (butter or margarine as preferred)
1 small egg (or ½ a large one)
Teaspoon vanilla essence
Rolled oats.
Glacé cherries.
Method
Cream together the sugar and fat and; then beat in the egg and vanilla
essence. Add the flour and stir thoroughly. With wet hands form the mixture
into balls the size of walnuts and coat them with the oats.
Place them on a greased baking sheet and flatten them slightly. Bake at
180ºC (350ºF, Gas 4) for 15 - 20 minutes until lightly browned. While still
warm press a halved glacé cherry on to each melting moment.
